Retention Codes

 

Serials: Retention codes are supplied by subject bibliographers and recorded on the "Review Room/New Serial Title" form that accompanies new serial titles. If one is not supplied by the bibliographer, do not supply them. Inform the Serials Cataloger.

Monographs and multi-volume sets: Retention codes should be "8" (permanently retained in location) unless otherwise noted on location flyer.

On VOYAGER, retention codes are located on the holdings record in the 008 field.
