Begun by Mathematical Reviews, MathSciNet is a comprehensive, research-level
database covering the world's mathematical literature since 1940. Journals, conference proceedings,
and books of mathematics research are covered. MathSciNet
fosters the navigation of mathematics literature by providing links to original articles and other
original documents, when available, by providing links from reviews to the text of more than 435,000
online articles in over 870 journals, although full-text, article-level access usually requires an
institutional subscription to that journal. MathSciNet now also incorporates a citation tracking
database.
